Dr. Sonya Oates

Dr. Sonya Oates is an experienced educational leader, bringing a deep commitment to instructional excellence, collaborative leadership, and lifelong learning. A seasoned educator and administrator, Dr. Oates offers extensive experience supporting schools, leaders, and teachers in creating high-quality learning environments for all students.

Dr. Oates has served in a variety of educational roles throughout her career, including teacher assistant, classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal and district director. Her experience provides her with a broad and nuanced understanding of elementary and middle grade education and school improvement.

Dr. Oates holds a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Central University, teacher certification from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, a master’s degree from Gardner-Webb University, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from High Point University. Her academic journey reflects her personal commitment to continuous growth and professional learning.
