Dr. Jerry L. Oates

Dr. Jerry L. Oates is a highly respected educational leader with more than 30 years of experience in K–12 education, district administration, and human resources leadership. He holds a Doctorate in Education from Fayetteville State University and has served in numerous leadership roles, including teacher, principal, Human Resources executive, Chief Academic Officer and superintendent. He also served as North Carolina Deputy State Superintendent

Throughout his career, Dr. Oates has been recognized for his exemplary leadership and impact on student achievement and organizational effectiveness. His honors include being named NC Southeast Region Superintendent of the Year and Principal of the Year. Known for his collaborative leadership style, strategic vision, and commitment to equity and accountability, Dr. Oates is dedicated to developing high-performing schools, effective leaders, and systems that support student success and community trust.
